Minister Wanda L. Stroud

Wanda Wright Stroud was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. She is the 2nd Child, born to Rev. Thelma Wright and the Late David Lee Wright, Jr. Wanda received the Lord as her personal Lord and Savior at 12 years old. She has always been a part of the church doing what the Lord called her to do—starting her ministry at The Church of the Open Door AME Church, in Brooklyn, New York under the leadership of the Founding Pastor Rev. Simon T. Levine, Sr. At the age of 14, Wanda was directing the Adult Choir, teaching Sunday school, creating programs for Sunday Service, Funerals, and Weddings, and was the executive assistant to the Pastor.

Wanda received her Associate Degree in Business Management in 1992 and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration in 2014. She is currently working on her Master’s Degree in Theology.

In 2008, Wanda and her family transitioned to Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church in North Charleston, South Carolina.  At Mt. Moriah, Wanda worked with the Worship and Arts Ministry under the Leadership of Worship & Arts Pastor, Rev Dr. Da’rrell Ravenel. She sang on the choir and praise team worked with the Prayer Call Ministry and was the executive assistant to the Worship and Arts Pastor. In 2014, she accepted her call into the ministry under the Leadership of Pastor Rev. Dr. Larry D. Goss, Sr., and was licensed as a minister in July 2016.

In 2018, Wanda joined Lovely Mountain Missionary Baptist Church, under the leadership of Senior Pastor and Moderator, Rev. Dr. Curtis J. Dayson. She served as his Executive Assistant.  Wanda assisted with the Trustee Ministry, coordinated events, and created programs and flyers for events.

In 2019, Wanda moved to Raleigh, North Carolina, and joined Redeeming Love Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Senior Pastor, Rev. Dr. Mark T. Gibson. Wanda was licensed as a Minister in December 2023.

Wanda currently is the Executive Assistant to the Senior Pastor and Executive Ministry Council and Ministry Liaison to the Ambassadors for Christ (AFC), Social Media, and Presentation Ministry. She assists with coordinating events and creates programs and flyers for various events and announcements.

Over the years, Wanda has worked on numerous projects and events with diverse artists, including Lena Horne, Regina Belle, Sheri Jones-Moffett, Kevin LeVar, Earnest Pugh, Kurt Carr, The Canton Spirituals, Dorothy Norwood, Chandler Moore, The Wardlaw Brothers, James Fortune, Chris Bethel, Wes Morgan, Stephen & Lori Ward, Comedian Mike Goodwin, Daron Shuler, Shonda English, Oneshia Edens, Regina Skeeters, Donald Malloy, Desmond Pringle, Comedian Chinnitta (Chocolate) Morris, Comedian Nakita B. Williams, Jarrell Smalls, David Mann, Comedian Akintunde, Joshua Rogers and Radio Personalities KD Bowe and Rick Joyner.

Wanda is the Proud Parent of 3 beautiful girls, Khaliyah, Briana, and Daniella, affectionally known as “The Stroud Girls.” Together they have a podcast called “Always Late to Church”.

Wanda is truly humbled, and privileged for this opportunity, and does not take this assignment lightly. She says, “God could have chosen anyone, but he chose me, therefore I must always operate in excellence as I want to always give God my best.”

A scripture she lives by… Philippians 4:13, “I Can Do All Things Through Christ Who Strengthens Me.”
